The bed was very comfortable - very nice room and a good nicely presented breakfast provided. Certainly to be recommended.

I Unfortunately have a problem with my left hip and find stairs very difficult and painful to climb. Unfortunately the rooms are upstairs and there is no lift.

The bedroom was somewhat basic though I did only pay £30. The bathroom, though quite large was also quite basic with an old lemon coloured suite and no complimentary shampoo. For the price it was fine but if I had paid the standard going rate I would have been disappointed

I enjoyed the mountain views from my bedroom window and the friendliness of the staff.

Comfortable and relaxed hotel in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and service good. Fantastic view from the restaurant where the food was excellent. Just the sort of place I'd happily be snowed into!

Absolutely nothing, lack of staff on arrival, no towels in room or toiletries apart from a very small bar of soap, it was old and tired. We booked this as it had two rosettes for it's food but when we got there we could not get a table as block booked and no way of us being served so went to hotel down the road. Breakfast was average at best so hope it was not the rosette awarded chefs who cooked it

The lack of service

As a solo traveller I liked the large single room at the front of the house with magnificent views. Usually I am put up in a small room at the back of a hotel with no view. I also enjoyed the full english breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. They were also efficient and called me a couple of days beforehand to ask what time they could expect my arrival.

While I knew the room was not ensuite but I had private facilities. The bathroom was through fire doors and down a few steps across the corridor and then up another few steps before I reached it. I found this inconvenient at 05.00am! However, it was very big and had a bath and shower which were spotless.

Ultra hot room ~ facing sun all day and although window was open, so were the curtains. No fan available. No shower gel! Bar not open til 6pm ~ we arrived after quite a long journey and would have liked a long, ice cold drink on the very warm and sunny afternoon.

the room was cold and dated but had potential we had 2 single beds pushed together and 2 single duvets staff where not available to discuss issues

Very pleasant hotel in nice location. Pleasant staff, clean room, good breakfast and excellent restaurant. Comfortable sitting rooms. Quiet location with good views. Wildlife in garden (red squirrels, birdlife) adds interest over breakfast.
